Who am I
I am a registered neuroaffirming therapist based in the UK, but my story begins in South Africa — where my passion for understanding people and supporting others first took root. Drawn to the human side of mental health, I eventually moved to Edinburgh to pursue a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. What began as a step toward a new career quickly became a journey of personal transformation.
It was during my studies that I was introduced to person-centred therapy — a model that offered something I’d never really experienced before: space to be seen without judgment. Unlike traditional approaches that focused on fixing symptoms, this one valued the whole person. It felt like the missing piece.
For my thesis, I focused on ADHD in women working in helping professions. What began as academic research quickly became deeply personal. As I listened to the stories of other women, I saw myself reflected back — the late diagnoses, the self-doubt, the endless pressure to “try harder.” I realised that many of the struggles I had carried weren’t personal failings; they were part of a much larger, often invisible pattern.
Learning to work through a neuroaffirming and person-centred lens was life-changing. I stopped forcing myself into boxes I was never meant to fit in. I began to trust my instincts, let go of the shame, and build a life that actually worked for my brain — not against it.
That journey now shapes the heart of my work. As a neurodivergent therapist, I support other women in finding clarity, confidence, and sustainable ways of living that honour who they really are — not who they’ve been told they should be.
